Hiiiii Every One .... Say Welcome Im new Member ;-)

  • Hiiiii Every One .... Say Welcome Im new Member ;-)

    Helooo guys



    im new to this board ... i would like to interduce myself ...



    im a female 28 yrs old ...

    a mom of one child (boy) one yrs old ...


    and the reason why i join this board because i want to lose my pregnancy weight ... and share experince with you guys ... im not new for the atkins diet i have been on it before along time and here iam again .. looking to do it after my pregnancy because i found it the most sucsseful diet plan which works for me and works for every body i know ...


    but i has been really a long time since i have been into atkins .... and i forgot .. some of the food allowed list ... of course i didnt forgot that there is no bread allowed ... also pasta .. rice .. and all the tasty carbd which we all love ...


    To make the long story short ... im trying to do it now with my own .. with out a doctor consulting .. ( because before when i did it i was following up with my doctor but now im looking to save that money since i know the whole idea of atkin and i want to restart it again)

    but guys i feeling little confuse about some stuff ...

    first my goal is to lose 44 pound .. im 176 lbs now and i want to be 132lbs

    1- how long should i safley do the first phase .. with 20 gram of carb??

    2- i'm allowed to use honey?? in the morning because my favorite breakfats if 2-3 tsp of honey over a heavy cream ( well i know heavy cream i allowed but im not sure about the honey)


    3- i'm allowed to use milk ? for my mocha coffee?? puls natural brown suger not refiend suger ...

    4- Is it okay to use whole grain brown crunchy slices i use 4 silce and 8 slice contains 40 grams of carb .. i use 4 slice which means only 20 gram

    5- Can i have dark chocolate for dessert?? like dark chocolate bars with 80% pure coca??

    6- What vitamines supplemnts i should take during atkins?? im using now chromium picolinate 200 mcg because they told me its good for fat burning .. what do u think anyone got an idea about it and is it fine to use it with atkins???


    please guys ... anyone knows about these stuff inform me about them are they fine to use ..???

      Hi there- welcome to the board! Fellow newbie here, too (but second time-Atkineer)...

      You probably didn't get many replies yet because the questions you posted are very basic and suggest you haven't read Dr. Atkins' book. While everyone here is about as helpful as anyone I've ever met online, they can only do so much...

      I'll take a shot at your questions, but you really need to get the book and read it cover to cover:

      1- how long should i safley do the first phase .. with 20 gram of carb??

      Read the book. Typically you do a 14 day induction, but I believe Dr. A says you can safely do "six months or more" (don't quote me), provided you don't get bored, your blood work is good, and you have good energy/sleep patterns.

      Not in the induction phase. Added sugar of any sort is not allowed in any phase of Atkins.

      I don't recall. You need to read the book. I take a single multivitamin per day (Men's Mega).

        Hi and welcome!

        If you look you will find an acceptable foods list, and do you have the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution? From there you will be able to answer your questions. You can also read through old posts and get a bunch of great information.

          You have lots of questions, so here I go.
          First see if you can get a copy of the book
          #1, How long you stay on induction is a personal choice, I would do the full to weeks and see how you feel about moving up.
          #2 NO HONEY, its not on the acceptable list, we are allowed 3 servings of artificial sweetner,
          #3 No milk, no, brown sugar, no no no
          #4 No brown, green, pink or anything rice.
          #5 No dark chocolate
          #6 Supplements are also listed in the book, but you really need to take a multi-vitamin without iron.
          There are some stickies in the frequently asked question section, check those out and you'll get an idea what this diet is about. BUT you need to get the book.

            Welcome to the board, newmom!

            You will find the answers to your questions in the Atkins Phases Forum but you still need to read the book, the 2002 version.

            Post often and ask any other questions you may have. You may also want to join a challenge or two because exercise makes a big difference in how you lose weight.

              Hi im also 28 , im also a mommy,( to-4) im due to give birth in June-baby5.

              I am floating around the boards getting info and ideas so i am prepared to get into the Atkins WOE once delivered and given the all clear from Dr.

              I dont specifically know the answers to the questions you've asked but i would advise as many are saying to get the book the 2002 edition ive got mine for 2.99 off amazon great deal i thought,
              as so many say here it is a priceless piece of kit!! and i dont think i could even try to begin without getting through it first (currently 1/3 way through) and it's nice to see that you can re-read it and use as a reference all through the stages.

                and about the book unfortunatly i dont have it ... i will try my best to get a copy of that book ... but now im little disappointed about the No Honey part ... what shell i do?? its my favorite breakfast meal ... also about the milk for my mocha coffee
                im wondering if i can replace my milk with soy milk?? anyone got an idea??

                  Well you can use heavy or light cream in your coffee. Don't know about the honey. Don't really think there's a good substitute.
                  Oh, and HI!!!!

                      I got both my copies on Ebay
                      The lists here are a start, but can't start to give you all the info in the book. You will find the number one advice to newbies is : read the book! Dr A covers everything from food, exercise, vitamins, medications that interfere with weight loss, diabetes, candida, and on and on. he really does write it well...it won't put you to sleep I keep mine in the bathroom at all times!!

                        You can also get the book on half.com for about $.75 gently used (with a couple bucks more in shipping)...

                          No soy milk either.
                          You have to limit your carbs to 20 a day and those need to mostly come from veggies. Honey, brown sugar, milk, would quickly use up your carbs.
