Hi All,
It has been a very long time with my extra weight. I am about 50 lbs over weight and considered "obese" by bmi standards. I am somewhat active but not the athletic type. 2 weekends ago I wanted to post a picture of myself on Facebook, when I found a picture of me taken 2 years ago and I almost cried. I don't like the way I look(ed), I don't like the way I feel tired and ready for bed all the time. I noticed some friends doing very well with their battle and they encouraged me to do Atkins. When I started to read the book, and identified I was consuming 300-600 carbs a day, this is why I figured why I am so over weight. This is day 1, meal 2. So far so good. My body hasn't noticed the difference yet and I hope that I have the courage to stick with this program.
Many great wishes to you all.

If you've read the book, you already know that somewhere in the first week, you will go through the "induction flu", called that, because the symptoms of carb withdrawal are similar to that of the flu. If you can make it through those hours (have aspirin handy!!) you will love how you feel when it's over!!
