  • Day 4 induction and I'm really finding it tough!

Hi, I am currently on day 4 of the diet, and am really REALLY craving some fruit and something fresh. I also wouldn't mind a bit of toast and jam (something that I never have) I don't think I've lost any weight, and feel sick at the though of having to have more cheese and meat tommorrow. Has anyone got any ideas for breakfast? No more sausages, bacon, eggs, cream or mushrooms, I feel sick at the richness of everything. As I only need to lose about 10 lb I am beginning to wonder if I'm on the right diet? Please help me!

First off, Welcome to the board
I don't think you necessarely have to eat "breakfast" foods for breakfast. How about some chicken fajita with fresh bell peppers on a bed of lettuce? Grilled chicken stir fry with zucchini or broccoli? Check out these recipes...I hope they can give you some ideas of great foods to eat while on induction. The induction friendly recipes are marked with an asterick *

Domini, there is no need to eat eggs for breakfast unless you want them. I love taco salads for breakfast, topped with salsa and sour cream. Or a hamburger patty, spread with mayonnaise, topped with salsa on a bed of fresh salad veggies. Don't forget chopped avocado if you like it.

We have a wonderful recipe section on this site. Please check it out!

And there are other sites that will give you great ideas. You have to get a little creative to keep your meals from getting boring. That's part of the fun to me.

        Hi Dominy,

Do take a look at the recipe pages and sites that Tutti and Sunny have mentioned. If you want to lose 10 lbs, then once you have finished your two week induction you should move straight on to OWL - so start getting yourself familiar with how OWL will work for you. You will be able to introduce a wider variety of foods as you move up the OWL 'rungs,' and with a relatively small amount to lose you will quite probably be able to move up through OWL and into the Pre-Maintenance phases quite quickly.

Dominy Rhubarb is on the "other veggie list" and I've always used it as a fruit. Stew it (or cook in microwave) with a bit of water and splenda to taste. I have it with a bit of heavy cream.

Also pumpkin - there are several recipes on here using pumpkin, off the other veggies list too.
