I found this site while looking up recipes that are ok during the induction phase. What a great source of information and inspiration. I am 37 years old, and after 4 pregnancies, need to lose a few pounds, and shape up a bit. My ketostix are officially purple, now I am just waiting to see a change on my scale.

Re: New Atkins dieter
I never expect...I only hope
That said, make sure you take measurements as well, for when the scale doesn't move....you'd be surprised! Dr A said during induction we should lose from 5 to 10% of the total we need to lose unless we are really resistant. Don't be a slave to the scale! I know that's easier said than done....I have two scales in my house

Re: New Atkins dieter
Take Chicklady's advice on taking measurements. I regret that I don't have all of my starting measurements. Let me clarify...I'm sorry I don't have them on paper!! I'm very glad I don't see them in the mirror anymore!! As someone who has seen little change on the scale as opposed to the tape measure, let me tell you, the measurements tell the tale. No one will ever look at you and say oh, it looks like you're down 3 pounds since yesterday! However, when you're two pants sizes down, they'll notice. When your waist shrinks, they'll notice. We're so obsessed with what the box on the floor says but it'll never look up at you and tell the whole story!
Here's a link for where to measure. Then measure once a week or once every 2 weeks. If you're exercising, (and you should be) you'll see a decline in inches every week.
