  • Newbie! Getting ready to being induction

Howdy! I've finally decided to try Atkins. Just recenlty got married and the honeymoon helped add a lovely 10 lbs to my already unsatisfactory weight! My hubby is great and will be starting this journey with me! I need extra support since I have a desk job and it's that much harder for me to diet on account of bordom! I'm determined more now than ever to get this weight off! Looking forward to posting progress

Hiya Jessica! Welcome aboard to you and your brand new husband! Felicitations (does such a word exist?) to you!!!
It's great that you have a partner to do Atkins with. Makes a huge difference from a practical standpoint and it's nice to be able to share the ups and downs.
Don't get down if your hub loses faster than you do... unfortunately in this unfair world, men tend to lose faster than women.

Seeing as you realise that boredom is a problem for you and (probably) causes you to eat more often than you need, it would be a good idea to try to find some sort of solution to that problem... find alternatives to eating that alleviate the boredom. Maybe take up some sort of hobby... or post lots here!!!

Looking forward to following your joint progress. We're all behind you 100%!

Thanks a bunch... yea men suck from that standpoint but my husband is very supportive. I had printed a ton of stuff on the atkins plan and had it on the sofa while I was doing other things and he said he'd love to do it with me if that's what I wanted. It was great to not even have to ask! I'm excited about it and we both are members of the local YMCA so we've been going about 3x a week already.

      Thanks for the support!

The great thing about having a desk job with a lot of time on your hands is that you should be able to read every thread on this board! Also, you have plenty of time to peruse recipes and log in all your foods into fitday. How can you fail?
            149.8/no weigh/ 119

            1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:

rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
            rung 4 - berries, melon
            rung 5 - wine -
            rung 6 - beans, hummus

rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
