HI. I am starting day two of my Induction. Ended Day One with a headache and a funny feeling in the tummy that I do not think was hunger, but just not a good feeling either. Many years ago I tried Atkins, but did not make it through the Induction phase. I have been exercising for some time now and no weight was coming off. However, clothes fit better and I am less creaky! I got a Wii Fit for Christmas and either do 30 minutes of that, 30 minutes on the recumbent bike, or walk for 30 minutes every day. Sometimes I even get energetic enough to do two out of three. I started gaining weight in my forties and just could not seem to lose, each year gradually adding to the number. I want to get healthy so that when my children do give me grandchildren, I can play with them! I am definitely the sugar addict, with M & Ms being my major weakness. Atkins makes all kinds of sense to me because of some personal experiences. I have a friend who has an elbow replaced because of her juvenile rhuematoid arthritis. She had a glucose tolerance test as an adult and had hives for a year from the sodium benzoate in the test. She eliminated that from her diet and has had no further problems with arthritis. She has fone completely organic as well. I have noticed a big difference in my 'creakiness' when I eat out several times a week. Now I am home and can cook my own meals. We live in the country, so the fast food, etc. is also further away. I love the link to Linda's recipes and will be trying out some of the ones with asteriks (Induction). The stories I have been reading on here are inspiring and I am starting to write my own!

Re: Another Newbie
Thanks mitzimarie! Glad to be here. I have Atkins for Life and have ordered the Diet Revolution 2002. I had and read a copy, but in one of my moves it has disappeared. I am excited about all the new (to me at least) recipes for the induction since induction is where I failed last time.Female, 58, 5'4"

Re: Another Newbie
Hi Penny!!!! Welcome to ADBB I'm so happy you found us. My weight crept up on me also, but I just avoided the mirror and scales until it didn't bother me, but I had to do something and Atkins made the most sense to me. I started January 5, 2009 and have been amazed at the progress I've made.
Linda site is a real godsend (try the stuffed green peppers!!) as you will find. Have a great time with your weight loss, enjoy the ride!Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

Re: Another Newbie
Welcome to the board, Pennylee!
It sounds like you're experiencing the induction flu, but don't worry, it will pass and then you will get a rush of energy that will amaze you!
I know that 'creaky' feeling you were talking about because I used to get it too but haven't had it since I started Atkins almost a year ago. You will love the way you feel in a very short time.
Hope to see you around!
