  • Greetings from Vermont

Hi all. I am new here to the forum and thought I would introduce myself. I am not new to Atkins, as I was on it once before and lost about 55 lbs...sadly...I gained it back, so I'm back on induction and hanging in there. It doesn't seem to be working so well the 2nd time around but I am determined!! Last time I didn't join the forum, but this time I need help. Thank you all

    Re: Greetings from Vermont

Hi Naturewalker and welcome aboard! Nice to have you join us here.

Some people experience slower weight loss the second time around. But, if you stick to the plan, it will work for you. It just might take a little bit for your body to realise you're serious!
If you try to think direction rather than speed it'll be easier, and by what you say, the direction is good.

If you're still worried after a little more time has passed, try posting a menu in the Review my Menu forum. It could be that there is some little thing that needs tweaking.

    Hang in there!

      Re: Greetings from Vermont

Thank you for the welcome. I was reading some of the others posts in a different part of the forum here and saw that someone had stopped the atkins shakes and the weight started coming off. I decided to stop them too. (I was having one per day early morning). Also I had over half my thyroid removed a couple months ago, and will be having my lab values checked in a few weeks. So there is always hope! It will be 2 weeks this saturday that I've been back on induction and I may have lost two lbs only. grrr...But I'm not giving up!!

        Re: Greetings from Vermont

Hi Welcome aboard! This is my 3rd (and FINAL) time around, and I think a big part of the problem losing the 2nd and 3rd time is that we make assumptions and take liberties that aren't in the rulebook Of course, there is also the thing where your body says "hey, I've seen this trick before" . Just stick it out, and it WILL happen!

290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

Well... both thyroid issues and shakes can have a big effect on weight loss. You're wise to ditch the shakes.
Keep us posted as to your thyroid values. Did you know there's a thyroid forum here? You might like to check it out for info: Thyroid - Atkins Diet
