Hi Sarah, glad you found us and joined.
Baked beans are a really bad low carb choice, but don't worry, sometimes it takes a few days to get into the program.
Check out the Forums, especially the FAQ section as it is loaded with great advise.
Have your read Dr Atkins book? Its good to know how and why your doing this.
Youll have lots of questions, so ask away

I try to get a full two weeks clean induction in, but its a personal choice. After the 2 weeks we usually stay on induction for awhile longer so it doesn't matter.

Hi Sarah -- welcome to DABB! I agree you need to purchase the book so you know what you are doing and why - I see you are a teacher, so you should appreciate finding out the theory of this plan. Amazon has copies of the DANDR book for under $5.00 (including shipping) - Amazon.com: Used and New: Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution, Revised Edition. I bought one of the .01 books with 3.99 shipping and it was brand new when I got it - never opened before.

Until you can get a copy of the book there is a lot of information on the induction forum to help you -- look at the stickies Atkins Diet 14-day Induction - Atkins Diet.

There are also wonderful recipe sites you can use to keep from getting bored with the same old menu day after day. There is no reason to get tired of the food, we have such a variety to choose from - it's up to you. There are many foods you can pack and take with you for lunches or snacks while you are at school. One of my favorites are radishes -- 9 medium radishes is 1 carb -- that's a lot of chewing for 1 carb! Take a little container of dip or Hellman's mayo to dip your food in.

Good luck on your journey! Check in everyday to see what's going on and also to ask questions.
