Hi, everyone.
I have 'done' the Atkins plan in the past, but never got all the way to where I wanted to be, and then when I thought I was close enough, would start adding my old favorite foods on occasion.
Cycle was always the same. Weeks or months of steady weight loss, a slump, eat some non-plan food to see if it would "jump start" the weight loss cycle again. Eat correctly for a few more days, then eat something not on plan. Eventually eating what I want and no longer on the plan.
Funny thing is I always feel GREAT while on the plan and crummy while doing things my way (energy spikes and crashes throughout the day, etc...), yet continue to fall off again. Makes no sense.
Anyway, I decided last Tuesday (April 7) to make a change for good and I started that day. Started at 237lbs.
This morning I was at 230.5lbs.
My biggest temptation is Dr. Pepper. I have intentionally left 1 can of Dr. Pepper in my fridge this time. I see it every time I open the fridge and remember how crummy I felt being addicted to it and the caffeine and sugar rush and how I don't need that any more.
I'm also new to sharing about my weight loss plans. Never joined a weight loss support forum before, but after a couple of hours browsing, I do see the value.
Thanks for having me.
Off to check out the STAC.
