Hi everyone! Today is my first day of my first try at Atkins and I am looking forward to the challenge. I lost alost of weight 2 years ago and kept it off for over a year then watched it come right back. Low-calorie diets are NOT the answer-eventually you will want to eat the tires off your car!! I loved the look that I had then and I felt so feminine, now I feel like a blob...so this is what I am going to do get back to where I was before. Just without starving and in a much healthier way. I've made my oopsies and stocked my fridge and I am ready to go!! Initially I was scared to attempt this diet then I did a ton of research on the web and found that this can be a way of life. I will be transitioning my kitchen to entirely low-carb, to ensure success. Thank you for reading and I hope to be here regularly!

Hope to see your posts often...
...this is a great place to be for support and friendship. We were all where you are today at one point so if you have questions we're here to help! As DesertThorn said I hope you have the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book...that's the edition we use here. Make sure you read it, know the rules of induction and the list of acceptable food is memorized. If it's not on the list....it doesn't go in your mouth! Drink at least 64 ounces of plain water a day (not tea, coffee, kool-aid -- W A T E R) and eat when you get hungry. There is no reason to be hungry here, eat the skin on chicken, add fat when you cook, dip meat and veggies into mayonnaise or some sort of fat. By doing this you are full longer and it helps cut the cravings.
