  • Hello...looking for accountability.

    Hi all,

So glad to have found this forum, it's exactly what I need for motivation and accountability.

I'm not massively overweight, just looking to re-structure my eating habits (steer away from the junk) and get rid of about 20lbs which is all around my mid-section and looking pretty unsightly.

I've heard many good things about Atkins and decided it's time I tried it.

I'm armed the book, a stock of Induction foods and i've cleared my kitchen of all non induction foods.

    I start tomorrow....wish me luck.

    Re: Hello...looking for accountability.

welcome Lorelee!!! This is a great place for support and friendship. I'm so happy you have the book -- memorize the rules of induction and also the list of acceptable food...if it's not on the list don't put it in your mouth! Give it 14 days, stay off the scale until you are through induction. Because you don't have much to loose you probably won't see huge numbers in the first 2 weeks but you will loose so be patient.
Make sure you drink at least 64 ounces of pure water (not tea or coffee) and get some form of exercise everyday -- walk, run, bike, dance -- but get moving!!

I'm putting links for recipe sites here for you -- eat a variety of different food and try something you wouldn't normally eat - you'll be surprised at the things you will end up liking! I love stuffed green peppers and zucchini now...before Atkins I would have wired my mouth shut before I ate them!!! LOL.

If you have questions ask -- we all started where you are today and we remember how it feels. I wish you much luck!!

      Re: Hello...looking for accountability.

Welcome. You are right about the accountability. Having the forum keeping me honest is a great motivator. I feel guilty when I have to post my failings in front of the ADBB world so I try hard to live up to my original commitment. LOL The great thing is that when you do flub it up, these folks are here to help you climb back on board and will help you figure out why you goofed so it doesn't happen again. You have found the end of the rainbow for Atkins support!
