Ok, so I never belonged to the ADBB before, so I am a newbie, but I have tried Atkins twice before, so in that I am returning.
My name is Jacqui and I'm fed up. I have a pretty decent life, a wonderful partner who is joining me in my goals to lose weight, a job and an apartment which both keep me ahead of the curve in this economy. I also have a sedentary job, a 1.5 hour commute each way, and a level of exhaustion that I've never experienced before.
When I hit puberty my father decided to start cooking and he made amazing meals. I ate two and three large helpings at each dinner. Once I stopped growing, around 13, I started packing on the weight because I kept eating the same. I'd get upset and comfort myself with ice cream, candy, cookies, you name it. By the time I graduated high school I was 190, by the time I graduated college I was 210. After college I lost weight on Atkins and gained it all back during a bad relationship. Then I moved to DC and I was 200. I met my partner and we, together, because so obliviously happy that we gained a lot of weight together. In 2 years of happy bliss I weighed 225, and she weighed 260. We went on Atkins together and I lost 25 pounds and she lost 20. We got cocky and before you know it a year went by and I was at 240 and she was at 290.
Now we are fed up. It's time to humble ourselves and go back to what we know. We've tried going vegetarian, we've tried South Beach, we've tried vegan, and Weight Watchers and everything in between. This time we are sublimating ourselves before the Atkins altar again. The only change? This time we want to keep our fat grams down as much as possible because of her history of gall bladder problems.
Wish us luck!!

Plus I have cut up cucumbers ready to snack on, and other little veggie treats for the days we are low. Those items I mentioned were really just the items that I cooked up for the week.
