  • Heya'll!

    Joined to get in sight on tips/tactics. Currently 5 days into the induction phase. Lots of lettuce, meat, cheese, a few nuts, vitamins and Benefiber. Would like some information on acacia fiber and also what my goal should be for Ketostix color at 5 days into induction??

    You need to review the rules of induction. "A few nuts" is not on the list of allowed foods
    Ketostix colour does not matter - any old colour will do - it means you are expelling ketons and you're good.
    I don't know what acacia fibre is - sorry.

      busted! I dropped the nuts yesterday. Carb count has been under 10 since I started though. Feel good, but would love to be able to get rid of the diahrrea.

      Acacia fiber, marketed by Heather's Tummy Fiber is what I've been looking for. From what I read, it's good stuff. Just can't find it locally.

        Ohh sorry about the diarrhea - Sometimes that happens as you start a new regiment.
        You're not eating sugar alcohols are you? Those are like laxative for me. The pits!!

        If you are interested in fibre you do not need any special type - In the book Atkins talks about using psyllium husks, flax seeds or wheat bran. I also think you way want to up your veggies a bit - there are nice fibre in veggies and if you are under 10 you have plenty of room to include veggies.

          hi Loewen -- I had the diarreah the first few days also, getting rid of all the crap I'd eaten before...but have been fine ever since. Make sure you are only eating the foods on the acceptable food list - if it's not there you don't eat it. You need to read the 2002 DANDR book so you know why this plan works and how it works.

          Drink at least 64 ounces of clear water a day -- soda, coffee, tea, etc don't count -- only clear water! Get some exercise in everyday and you'll be feeling wonderful before you know it.
