  • I wanna make friends with green veggies and meat!

    Hi!

I lost child sized amounts of weight with Atkins years ago and I'm back to do it again.

I've been on induction for 4 days now and I feel amazing. I'm going to be a little unorthodox in my approach because right now I refuse to get on a scale. It's rational to track the progress, but right now I.Just.Can't. deal with a number, maybe in a few weeks.

So all that said, I'll leave you with some super awesome South Park smilies.

Welcome to the board. Don't feel bad, I am not ready to get on the scale yet either. A few years ago I weighed 255-260, and I lost 80lbs on Atkins...then over time I put it back on after leaving the ARMY...so here I am again, but this time it is staying off.

      Hello, Haviva

It's very nice to meet you.

I actually think that your unorthodox approach concerning the scale can be a very good idea for some people. I've never weighed more than once a week, and it's not unusual for me to go longer than that, now that I'm in Maintenance. The scale is really not a very good indicator of fat loss, anyway. I always kept a pair of jeans that were too tight, and tried them on every 10 days or so. It was very cool to watch a pair of jeans that I couldn't button become so big that I had to give them away. That's a good indicator!

Have you checked out the STAC (Second Time Around Club) Forum yet? There are a lot of great folks there, who have "been there, and done that", and ban together to get it "right" this time. It took me more than once, too.

      Yeah... aren't smilies great!

Hey thanks to you both for responding!

For the first few weeks I am planning on using a pair of currently tight jeans to monitor my progress.

I'm slowly but surely making my way around the forum and won't be a stranger.

OHH>>>> I so relate. I didn't get on the scale the first couple of weeks either, and my 'beginning' picture is actually a few pounds in too... I couldn't wear that red suit when I bought it. So I have actually lost a few more pounds than my ticker says. I just couldn't face that 'number' until I knew the numbers were really headed in the right direction!

Forrest, I'll have to compose a beef and eggs poem to go with your veggie verse! and I think you will be very hot under 200 lbs.

Wishing you lots of success Haviva!
