Hey there. My name is Amy and I'm a diet veteran...well, those diets that don't stick. My daughter and I are set to start Atkins tomorrrow and we're totally psyched about it. I found this site last week and have been lurking in the background...hope you all don't mind. It looks alot easier than everything I've done before and I'm sure we can both hang in there.

We're both looking forward to getting to know all of you as well as ourselves.

Thanks to you both. So far, things are going absolutely fabulous...but they always seem to for the first week, don't they? LOL Anyway, the scale has already moved, which shocked the pudding out of both my daughter and myself.

          Welcome to the board, Amy!

I'm sure you and your daughter will do just fine. It's so nice to have someone doing it with you.

Once you really understand what carbs have been doing to you for so long, you lose all interest in eating them and that's the 'secret' to this WOL.

Good luck to both of you!

Eat the appropriate foods (those on the acceptable foods list), drink plenty of water (at least 64 ounces of pure water daily) and exercise -- you should have no problems. Give the first 14 days your all and resist the urge to cheat if it comes up.

Try some new recipes - you're tastebuds will change over the next few weeks and months, things that you never liked before you may end up liking! Here are a few links for delicious recipes you can try. Make sure you are eating induction friendly recipes to begin with.
