Hi everyone. I am shell. I am 39 and have been overweight for the past 12 years. I am currently at 210 and am hoping to get back down to 140 which is healthy for my height of 5' 6". I have not yet started Atkins but intend to do so within the next week. In the meantime I look forward to reading the posts and learning more about how the diet works, and the success people are having with it. Hope to see you around the forums!

Re: New!! Hi everyone
Hi Shell -- welcome to ADBB!!! Im glad you are going to start in a few days - this is a wonderful way to live...I honestly have never been happier trying to loose weight.
I hope you have and are reading the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book -- if you don't have it yet please get it so you will know what is going on and how things work. Learn the rules of induction and follow them, drink plenty of pure water (64 oz minimum daily and eat only foods on the allowable foods list. As soon as you can start an exercise regime and stick with it...work up to exercising if you haven't been doing any (I wasn't but I do now).
Take care, good luck and remember, we're all here to help each other - if you need anythhing all you have to do is ask!
Helpful links -- remember to use only induction friendly recipes to begin with!!
