    New Atkinsian

Hey everyone. I started Atkins on Friday, April 24. I've allready lost 6lbs in just 3 days. Wow! I've done the grapefruit diet before, which is sorta like Atkins. However, my doctor just brought it to my attention that grapefruit is a carb and that it probably slowed my weightloss....duh. I did lose weight it was alot slower and then I did gain it all back plus 40 lbs. This time I am doing Atkins and plan on following it to a tee. I'm 38 (almost 39) years old. I'm very determined to lose at least 60 lbs. I'm 5'8" and today weigh 206. I started at 212. My highest weight ever was 226. My goal is 150. I also have a few things working against me such as fibromyalgia, low-thyroid, and SVT or supra-ventricular tachyardia. I'm hoping some of this issues will resolve themselves as I lose weight and stick with the diet. I'm so excited. I've been reading alot of your success stories which make me even more determined. Can't wait to get to know you all. KIM
