    Hello All,

I'm new to this site, but not new to Atkins. I have followed the diet a handful of times, but never committed to it as a WOL. I'm hoping this time is different. My highest weight was 287. And my lowest in my adult life was 155. I battled anorexia and diet pills in my late teens/early twenties. I'm back on the horse again, and weighed in at 252 last week. I started Atkins seven days ago (induction) an am down to 242 this morning.

I'm looking forward to meeting some supportive friends on here, as my boyfriend is the biggest carb-eater ever.

Hope everyone has a great day!

welcome Gemini -- glad you know about Atkins and have made it through your 1st week of induction. Great weight loss - congratulations. Stay strong with the boyfriend and his high carb eating ways...I live with my mother and husband who are diabetic like I am but aren't following Atkins so I'm by myself here!

Good luck on your journey - have you found the recipe sites? There are great recipes there to help you keep from getting bored with the same old thing. Make sure you're using induction recipes to begin with!!

      Welcome, GP.

It looks like you are off to a great start! Congratulations on your weight loss!

I was anorexic in my teens and twenties, too. I believe that Atkins can help repair some of the metabolic damage.

All the best to you on your journey!

          Re: New to this site

          Thank you, everyone for writing!
I'm hoping that this time will be different. I need to keep up on finding new recipes, because O do get bored very easily Also, I don't eat read meat. I've never had a hamburger in my entire life.....which means my choices are even more limited. I'm eating tons of chicken, eggs, etc. It's giving my so much energy. I also am eating a ton more vegetable than I was used to, which is feeling pretty good too.

How long has everyone been on the diet?
