  • 2nd time-50 lbs to lose

    Looking for diet buddies to hang in for a long haul. No willpower here, have been trying to lose the same 50 for about 10 years now. What will make this time any different? Doctors worried about my health, i hate the way i look and still, not much hope. I have failed too many times I think. Has anyone else out there given up so many times they feel defeated and hopeless?




    Started this diet on Sun 4/26/09

    50 lbs gone on Sun 9/27/09

    Well its been over a year now and I am currently on maintenance and still trying to adjust to the "new" ME. No major struggles to report, just livin' day to day.

    welcome - you are in the right place. We are all here for the same reason, so the support here is wonderful. If you follow the plan as it is written you will do fine -- give the first 2 weeks your all - you're cravings will go away and you'll feel so much better. Drink plenty of water, only eat foods on the acceptable food list and exercise - once you put those things together you'll do fine.

    Here are some links that will help -- get and read the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book - it will explain a lot of things to you that will help you stay on track.
    To begin with use only induction friendly recipes on the recipe sites. Good luke.

    I started a thread several days ago, maybe almost 2 weeks ago about my dry mouth and now I can't find it. How do I find an old thread of mine?

      We have all been to the land of despair and that's what brought us here! You are not alone. But know that Atkins, if followed by the book, is the answer you have been looking for, so stay with us and you will get to where you want to be.

        thanks guys for the inspirations. i have tried this diet before and lost 27 lbs in less than 2 months, unfortunately i didn't stick with it and gained all back plus 20 lbs. i have purchased the book and plan on re-reading it. Will definitely check out all the links you supplied. thanks again
