Hi...I am new to the site, but not Atkins...15 years ago I read his diet book...it made sense hubby and I did it and I did lose weight but I fell off the wagon and have done so many other diets. I love bread and sweets, both of which make me sick...anyhow, I went to my mom's wedding last summer and I looked like a beached whale...I had been on prednisone, and that didn't help...I am going to do this...I dont lose weight very well, though. I am one of those resistant ones...but I don't lose weight on any other plan, either...this one makes me feel better. I just made the quiche like pizza and it is great!!!! Well that's enough...I will try to put the picture on here of me at mom's wedding...ewwwww

welcome -- there are plenty of us who aren't loosing as quickly as others so you'll do fine here. Each pound, for those of us who don't loose quickly, means so much! Good luck to you. Another slow, resistant loser here. But it IS working... just slower than most.
And my health is better and I feel better than I have in many years.

You are not alone in being metabolic resistant but the diet will work for you if you are patient. There is a chapter about it in the 2002 edition of the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution that should help. That's the version we use here on the board.
Drinking lots of water and getting some exercise helps a lot too so maybe you would like to join an exercise challenge or two.
