Hello Everyone,
I'm a 48yo Female who is about 45 pounds overweight. I have thyroid issues and have several times in my life gained a bunch of weight due to a combination of my thyroid medication not working at the time and my over-eating.
In 1991-1992 I lost about 70 pounds on Atkins. I have maintained 25 pounds of that loss but the other 45 have come and gone. Usually I followed Atkins to take the weight off but this last time due to my husband's insistence, I tried Weight Watchers. My blood sugars bounce all over the place on WW.
To be fair to my husband, we have only been married a year and a half and this is a second marriage for both of us. His ex-wife had successfully used weight Watchers and that was all he knew. So after me giving WW a good try, he has said that he believes that Atkins is a better program for me.
I have heard that the first time a person low carbs is the best time and that each successive attempt becomes a bit harder. I have not found that to totally be true, but I haven't lost all the way back down to my goal weight either.
I started induction this morning and I'm looking forward to getting to know others here and to learning more from you all.
