Hello all im junior 24/m/cali I have been on and off on the Atkins diet for 2 years and i am so ashamed in myslef, because i look back and know i would be in great health and i would have the body I see myslef having. I am 5'10 and I weigh 225lbs. My goal weight is 160lbs. I am very serious as far as not cheating and just staying committed, its time to make a lifestyle change. I need to lose this weight for my career, I am transferring from my current position to a federal law enforcement position and just for overall health reasons. ANY ADVICE I WOULD APPRECIATE ON JUST HOW TO STAY MOTIVATED AND STICK WITH THE DIET. THANKS 2 ALL

Re: newbie good evening
Hi, Junior and welcome!
The advice I always give newbies is to check with this board as often as possible .... it really keeps you motivated. So does keeping a food diary. There are free online ones; I like FitDay, myself ... you can log in your food, exercise, etc .... VERY helpful. Drinks lots of water. Exercise! And be kind to yourself. This is a lifestyle, not a diet. Set mini-goals for yourself and celebrate it when you reach them. And, best of luck to you!

Re: newbie good evening
hi and welcome Jr. You are in the right place for support and advise - all you have to do is ask any questions you may have. Join in a few challenges here to help keep you motivated and also as a way to meet people.
Make sure you are only eating food from the acceptable food list, drink at least 64 ounces of pure water daily (coffee, tea, kool-aid do not count - only water). Find some type of exercise you enjoy doing. Walking, swimming, biking, dancing, skating -- anything to get you up and get you moving.
Here are a few links to help get your going. I wish you much luck!!
