  • Hi everyone!!

Good morning everyone. I am new to your fabulous site here, and new to Atkins. Have done my reading of "The NEW Diet Revolution" and I'm ready to go. I will be starting this weekend with my husband, and he is ready to go, I on the other hand am a serious Carb addict so I know I have some tough road ahead of me. Healthy is the goal now, and I want to be healthy.

I am really looking forward to making alot of new friends on here. I wish you all much success!

    Re: Hi everyone!!

Good luck to both of you Jodie. Just tell yourself it is only a couple of days and then I won't have these cravings. Just got to make it through the first week and it all gets easier from there. And it works!

      Welcome to the board, Jodie!

I know it seems hard right now to give up those carbs but believe me, the day will come when you won't even miss them at all. Just follow the plan and it will work for you.

Good luck to both of you!

Welcome and good luck to you and your husband -- give the plan 14 days without cheating -- within a few days your cravings will be gone and you'll feel so much better. I was a huge popcorn eater, not so much bread and butter, but breaded foods and chips...within a couple days I haven't looked back and never missed it. I still don't 4 months later.

I wish you both much luck! Make sure to drink at least 64 ounces of pure water daily, get some exercise and eat healthy delicious foods. Here are some recipe links to help get you started...make sure you are using only induction recipes to begin with!!

          Re: Hi everyone!!

A big welcome, Jodie, to you and your man! How lucky you are to have a partner who will take this life changing journey with you. Everyone's right - don't even try to "taste" a carb - if you do, the cravings will just take over. Bite the bullet, in a couple days you won't even be hungry. Cook a roast or chicken, boil eggs, keep celery with cream cheese on hand. And, of course, drink that water and avoid at all costs any "diet" soda, even if it's sweetened with Splenda!

Keep in touch with the boards - join a challenge, keep yourself motivated by reading the success stories. You're gonna be one of them before you know it!
