  • Shoutout from Week 4 Newbie

Merry here...I've just signed up on this site but been on Induction for about a month. I've did Atkins about 5 years ago and it worked great for me. Lost about 40 pounds in 6 months...best shape of my life. The weight really did just fall off. Gained it all back over the years yoyo'd since. In this past month I've fluctuated between a 7-9 pound loss, holding steading at about 8. That is with limited/no exercise. I use a pedometer however, and average about 10 miles/day walking. I plan on walking/jogging more and expect my weight loss to hopefully continue. I really haven't cheated at all, except for one Advantage Bar (not Induction friendly but I was desperate.) Hoping to get some great recipes and inspiration on this site! Thanks and look forward to some new friends!

hi merry -- glad you introduced yourself. Here is a link so several recipe sites you can use. These are a lot of great recipes here -- try something you wouldn't normally eat - it's fun! i love the stuffed green peppers on Linda's site -- something I would have never eaten before!

Good luck on the weight loss. Make sure your drinking at least 64 ounces of pure water a day besides eating properly and the exercise!

      Welcome to , Merry!

You don't have a lot to lose. Did you consider moving to OWL, so that you have time to progress through all the phases of Atkins before you reach goal? OWL and Pre-Maintenance will teach you how to maintain your goal weight once you get there.

Congrats on your loss so far, Merry!

As Georgiana says, you should consider moving up the rungs. Lots of times, you will lose more by eating more veggies. I'm not sure why, but that's the way it works a lot of the time. Just experiment a little bit to see what works for you, but keep it legal.

        Good luck to you!

It didn't even occur to me to move onto OWL. Some part of me feels that if I start increasing my carbs I'll gain. However, I did increase a little today and didn't feel stuffed and I kept it legal. We'll see how it goes. Btw, I set 140 as my GW because I don't want to feel overconfident. I would LOVE to get to 125-130, but I'm not excercising like I should be so I don't expect too much. Sounds bad, I know. My energy has increased however, so maybe my mindset will improve also. Thanks for the suggestions! I am really hopeful w/a great support group like you guys!
