  • Hello

Hi my name is Lea and I am new to this site. Today is day one for me and I am really glad I found this site. I am the type of person that needs a place like this for support. My goal is to be as physically fit as I was before I had my 3 kids. Right now I am 183 and want to be 130 but no less than that. I would really enjoy any commets or advice you all can give me to keep me on track. Let me know what you did to help you through your first 14 day phase. Thanks, hope to hear from you.

    Re: Hello

Welcome lea. Nice to have you here. Yes this is a great place for support. I don't know where I would be without it. Before and after kids eh - can be quite a gap there.

I don't know what I did to keep on track. To me the first few days were the hardest but once ketosis hits around day 3-4 it was so much easier.
What do you think you need the most help with?

      Re: Hello

Hi Lea, the best advice I have for those first two weeks is to keep telling yourself "it is just a few more days and I will be well on my way". You just have to do it. But it gets easier and you will feel terrific once the ketosis kicks in, and you will see a difference on the scales in just 14 short days.

Do try to stay off the scale for the full two weeks. During Induction your weight does crazy things sometimes and it can drive you crazy. Best to wait the full time so you see the real loss.

      GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
      GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
      FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

        Re: Hello

        Welcome to the board, Lea!

What I did the first 2 weeks was keep the book with me at all times and when I had the chance, I read instead of snacking. I'm a snacker and that really helped.

Do you have the 2002 edition of the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution? If not, you should get it because it's the one we use here on the board and everything you need to know is in it.

In the meantime, drink lots of water, eat your veggies (very important), get some exercise and get rid of the carbage in your house!

        Good luck to you!

          Welcome!

I'd say one thing that kept me on track the first 14 days was cutting sugars cold turkey and doing a squeaky clean induction. Induction per sè will help you as it will automatically reduce your appetite once you are in ketosis. Hang in there for the first few days and it'll get easier and easier.

Ditto the other tips you were given too.

          Happy losing!
