  • hello

I am just checking this place out to see what Atkins is all about. I have tried everything and nothing helps. I need to do something as I want off my meds, Coreg for BP and Diuretics.
I walk 2 miles a day, but, not losing and I'm getting bored with it and know if I do, I will stop again. I need guidance in what I'm eating.
    Normal meal
    breakfast - Asian Pear
lunch - salad of lettuce, red cabbage, carrots and bell pepper with blue cheese dressing.
dinner - whatever dh is having which is usually anything processed as he has a motility disorder in his throat and everything has to be blended.
40ish and tired all the time. I'm tired of fat!!

    Re: hello

Sounds like you are not eating enough to keep your metabolism up there. And you are right if exercise gets boring, you tend to slip away.

All I can tell you is, if you are serious to commit to sticking to Atkins, you will lose and you won't be hungry. If you break your carb addictions, you will feel much better. But, if you don't do Atkins properly (you will get great advice on this site) you will not get the results you want. So think hard about it before you begin. 90% of success is getting your head in the right place and planning ahead for your daily food. The other ten percent is exercise.

I have kept 60 pounds off for five years and am now working on the next 60. I have gotten rid of sinus troubles, acid reflux, tiredness and hardly ever catch colds or flu any more. I feel better on Atkins than I had in years.

I am hoping you find it as rewarding as I have.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

      Re: hello

If I can stop smoking, cold turkey after 26 years, I can do this, lol. Thanks!! I will have to find the book and look around this site.
