Hello everyone my name is Joann & I started Atkins on Monday, May,5th again....yes this is my second time around because I know Atkins works. I lost 30 pnds in 2004 gained about ten of it back and in 2005 I lost that ten pnds plus another 25 pnds that same year in 2005. Unfortunely in august of 2006 I quit smoking and gradually have gained it all back... As you can see my weight has been anything but stable. Like so many others I was fat as a child..even as a teenager I was pretty heavy. My weight loss success has been no success. I have been on a diet all my life...up and down and I've never learned to eat healthy. What I did in 2004-2005 was just another shot at a seemingly hopeless cause. Today I weigh 187 pnds. hopefully I will be able to reach my goal which is 150 pnds. By the way I am 5'4" abd 52 years old. I'm here today because I know I'm not alone and I believe there are people here who can help and encourage.

Re: Hi there. I'm Joann & I'm new to the forum
Hello Joann,
Welcome to ADBB and back to Atkins. I'm glad you found us here. You will find great support here as well as information to help guide you.
I can relate to you saying "my weight has been anything but stable. Like so many others I was fat as a child..even as a teenager I was pretty heavy." I was a big baby and the trend followed me throughout my childhood and into adulthood. When I found Atkins I truly believe (d) that it's a God send. It saved my life.
I believe that one of the reasons I have been so successful, is that I don't view Atkins as a diet but rather as a lifestyle, a way of eating (woe) for life.
Here's some information for you to help you on your way to getting the healthiest that you have been. As long as you work the plan 100%, you'll get 100% results. BEFORE you begin the Atkins Nutritional Approach... You will be making lifestyle changes that will help you get to gaol and maintane.
Post often, join some challenges. A great way to meet people and make new friends, Here's a great group of folks with wonderful support.
Second Time Around Club Go ahead and introduce yourself at their Roll Call and check in each day. You'll love the support they offer.
Again, WELCOME!
