  • new to the board - been phase 1'ing for 4 weeks - only down 4 lbs?

    what in the world is wrong with me? I've RARELY slipped, and when I did, I got right back on track. 4 stinkin' lbs! Is this even going to work for me?

    why don't you post a few of your daily food logs here Review My Menu - Atkins Diet and see if someone can find the problem.

      I understand you are frustrated but you haven't given us anything to work with to help you. Are you eating the correct quantities and types of veggies? Are you drinking a minimum of 64 ounces of water? Have you limited your sweeteners (they stall people)? Have you given up caffeine? Are you eating enough? Because eating too little can stop your loss. Are you eating 65% of your calories in fat? What kind of slips did you have--Induction must be done cleanly or you can really halt your progress and never get the body chemistry rollling to burn the fat. As Imagood1 said, post a menu so we can help you.

        Sorry guys. I looked at the daily food logs, and I just can't find the time to set that kind of thing up. Small business owner, 4 children, hubby, and house for sale that showing every other day or so right now. I'm just doing good to keep my head above water enough to plan my meals ahead and not drive thru every 6 hrs. Sounds like excuses, but from 6am - 11 pm, I don't stop!

        I did physically measure my water intake for a few days and found that I hadn't been drinking enough, and that alone pulled off 3 lbs seemingly overnight, so I think that was the problem. However, I let a diet coke slip in on day 4 and day 5 of that newfound info, and the scale is right back to the 190 mark....my stall weight. Before that, my only slip up was eating too many peanuts a couple of days before realizing they were limited, and eating a single Rolo disc when I was craving chocolate so bad on Apr 25th. I haven't had a bite of anything with flour in it or any fruit, not a potato or carrot, and an extremely low amt of sugar (Rolo) since April 13th. How I've only lost 4 lbs is puzzling.

          Have you checked out the rules of induction. It seems like you may need a refresher.
