HI, I am Janette, mother of five and American living in Germany. I am going to try to do Atkins again. I am huge right now, a year after delivery of baby five. It is really hard to do Atkins here because of the German way of life...bread in the morning, bread in the evening. My mother-in-law thinks that potatoes are a major food category and have to be served with every meal. On top of that we cannot get the Atkins foods here, so I am doing it the old fashioned way...without any shakes or anything.
Today is day two for me in induction and I feel a bit yucky. I went shopping before I started and stocked the house with goodies.
I am excited about reading this site. I did not know I needed to measure my salad, for instance...there is a bunch to remember. The last time I was on the diet was 5 years ago and then we moved here and I gave up. It was too hard to battle this culture.
Wish me luck!
