  • Hello From Michigan

Hello. I am just winding down my 4th day of induction. I think I have gotten through the worst. The first 3 days were pure ****. I guess I have been suffering from the "induction flu". I also gave up my precious coffee 4 days ago. I am actually pretty proud of myself so far. I just got back from the grocery store. Too weird!! I bought bacon, shrimp, ahi tuna steaks, a great lettuce mix, tons of cheese, more eggs ( went through the 18 I thought would last ). It feels so strange loading my cart with things I would not normally buy.

I am 42, and have gained 80 pounds over the last 5 years. I have always been proud of the fact that I eat sooo healthy. Tons of whole grains, lean meats, low fat, the whole nine yards, but I was still gaining. I would eat like a bird and not budge the scale. I also have been working out like mad, and I mean 15 mile bike rides, up and down hills and more. My scale has not budged in 18 months. I have been 232, 5'8" for almost two years now.

Guess what? Although I think it is probably water weight, I am officially weighing in at 228 after 4 days. I am only running slight keytones according to the stick. Tonight, I can say I am beginning to feel much better. I am praying this works, and I beleive it will. I am pretty science minded, so I think I have a good idea as to what is happening in my body.

I ate 1 cup of lettuce greens, 1 chicken breast, 1/2 cucumber, 1 tbsp feta cheese, tossed with EVOO and vinager with fresh ground pepper. It was very satisfying. You are probably thinking that is not an accomplishment. However, before I ate, I fed my two children the following: 1 Rotisserie chicken, Homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and hot buttered corn. I have no idea how it tasted because I was too scared to even taste. I cannot believe I did not eat the potatoes. Major achievement.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I read that you should sign with stats, so here goes.,

Good for you. Stay scared of tasting those things you fed your kids. Those "tastes" can lead to cravings that cause a big fall.

There is no being a little bit in ketosis--either you are or you aren't (like pregnancy) so don't worry about the color of the sticks. pale pink is as good as deep purple.

      Glad you found us.

Hey gato98! So glad to see a fellow keto stripper! I just love knowing I'm losing when I see that purple! WOOOOHOOOO! Go purple!
Stay away from the white, yellow or orange veggies! Good girl for the no potato! Would have killed your purple strip!

Let me tell you, 5 weeks, no lbs...but man the inches! I have changed my dress size to 16 - 16/15 and one 14! Getting my big skirts out of Dodge so I don't ever step foot in them again! Just a promise I made to myself!

I'm not a big excercise person, love to dance though! Found Shimy on FITV and its Belly dance classes! Ive always wanted to learn that, but would never go to any public exercise or dance classes. Anyway, I record them and "shimy" when its covenient for me!

I lived in Kalamazoo and Plainwell MI a few years ago...back in TX now. Pretty State!
