    hi i'm vicky i'm 39 and currently weigh 210lbs. i'm sick of trying low fat low cal diets and feeling bloated and sluggish. i started atkins on monday and already people are saying it's no good for me, i don't care i'm going to stick to it i like fish meat eggs cheese and especially chicken more than cakes and pastries so hope this will work for me!! i'm fourty next march and want to be feeling fit and fabulous so any support and encouragement welcome

    Don't forget to eat your veggies, drink plenty of water, exercise and take your vitamins.

      Welcome to the board, vicky!

      You will find all the support and encouragement you need right here. And the people who say Atkins isn't a healthy diet, just don't know what they're talking about. This diet does more to alleviate problems like high blood pressure and insulin resistance than any other one out there, so just stick to your guns and ignore them!

        THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR SUCH QUICK REPLYS DON'T FEEL LIKE I'M ON MY OWN NOW AND IT'S A NICE FEELING. MY HUBBY KEEPS SAYING HE LOVES ME THE WAY I AM BUT I NEED TO LOVE ME!! I WANT TO WEAR MY LOVELY CLOTHES AND FEEL COMFORTABLE INSTEAD OF HIDING UNDERNEATH BAGGY THINGS. I'M A BUBBLY SOUL BUT THAT HAS DWINDLED LATELY DUE TO FEELING SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND TIRED. I HAVE JUST BOUGHT SOME EXCERCISE EQUIPMENT AND HAVE ALREADY DONE SOME SIT UPS ROWING AND STEPPING, ONLY 20 MINS BUT HEY IT'S A START, SMALL STEPS CAN BE REWARDING

          Yeah you'll walk around the block and be death tired. Then two times around the block, etc until you're walking/jogging miles per day. Slow starts are good.

          Atkins is healthy for you, in fact I'm looking forward to tossing my high blood pressure meds soon after I lose enough weight, and get fit. If you want, have your doctor do a complete blood work before you start, and after you're done and compare the results.
          What I do:
          Elliptical gym machine 1 hr Tue-Sun
          At 320, switch to cycling on my Trek 500
          2 filtered containers water/day
          Daily salads/veggies


          Goals:

          Stop needing High Blood Pressure meds - DONE!
          Workout in a XXXL shirt
          - DONE!
          Workout in a XXL shirt
          Workout in a XL shirt
          270 on the scales
