    Hello everyone!!

    Well I actually started my Atkins induction on Saturday so I am on day 5 and thought I'd join so I can get some support and someone to remind me why I am doing this!!

    I've tried atkins before and never done past the 2 week induction...but I am determined to do it this time as I am on holiday in 6 weeks (from when I started) so I am hoping to get down to 126lbs. I think it may be inpossible but I am going to weigh myself once a week and see how it goes. I'd be happy if I got down to 133llbs in that time but why not aim big!

    Fingers crossed I have a low resistance and the pounds will drop off!

    Congrats on the start, Maria. Your goal is lofty, but if you stick with it you'll certainly lose weight.

    One question I have: what are you going to do, diet/weight-wise, either on-holiday or afterwards?

      Hi!

      Thanks for replying. My long term goal is to lose weight and keep it off. I am in the healthy BMI range but want to be at the lower end of it as I know I have quite a high fat %.

      I feel like I have lost some after just 5 days but keeping myself from going on the scales until Friday. Its so tempting!

      I plan to stick on atkins for life and hopefully my holiday is just the mtivation I need to remind me that atkins works. I have tried other diets but as they allow you some treats (i.e. small ice cream) I cant do them cos once I have one.... i'll have the lot!

      I have joined a gym and for the past week I have been 4 times so making sure i go 5 times a week minimum as I have such a hard target to reach before my holidays

      Its going to be hard! I don't know how much people usually lose in induction but the last 2 week one I sis (this was a few years ago) I lost 8llbs in 2 weeks.

        Now that's the spirit/response I was hoping for! When you put "Reason: holiday" in your signature, I was afraid you weren't going to embrace this as a way of eating. I think you'll do great on this way of eating, and it won't be as hard as you think. The first week is the hardest. Each day gets easier (seriously). I am shocked at how each day is easier than the prior day. Sure, there are temptations here and there, but as each day becomes a minor victory, those victories add up and translate into tangible results....

          How long have you been doing atkins?
          Also, do you use the ketostix?

            I've been on since March 17th. I used the ketostix at the start to confirm that I'm in ketosis, but I've become attuned to my body now (and my diet) to know I'm still in it without testing regularly.
