    I am wondering if there may be some other members that might be from my neck of the woods, as I am trying to find myself a walking partner and have absolutely no clue how to go about doing this?

    My Mom suggested I go to the park, sit in my car and wait until I see a woman who's about to go for a walk and approach her asking if she minds if I join her? Ohhhh my.. hahahaha Can we say.. S T A L K E R!!! After I got my Mom to see just how bad that idea really is, she said, "well it seemed like a good idea in my mind" LOL..

    It sucks, as I don't have any friends either to ask and my dh works so much that his feet are not up to the task either. ~sighs~

    Anyone have any suggestions? I need to get out and do something, but desperately want someone to do it with. I need some new friends.. anyone want a new friend? Applications now being accepted within.. lol..

    I hope you're all of to a great start this week.. I'm still looking for my great start.

    Sassy where I live there is a walking club. Have you checked community boards and stuff. There may be something going on where you can join.

      Hey Liv..

      How have you been? Looks like you're doing pretty good.. and way to go on that 5K jog

      I hadn't thought of the walking clubs.. I'm not sure how to find them, but I will give it a try. With my work schedule, it may be hard to make something like that work though? That's why I figured if I could find one buddy, then it would be easier for us to blend our schedules.

        Do you have a local community centre or anything? We used to have a running group out of ours, and you just had to show up on a Monday Wednesday or a Friday for someone to run with. If you don't have anything like that, maybe you could start one?

          So far I have not had much luck in finding a group.. there is a seniors group that welcomes anyone lol.. but I think I'll pass on that..

          Hopefully I'll connect with one soon or find a buddy to walk with..

                Here's a little bit about what I've been doing

                Before and during - From 400 lbs. to 247 lbs. Not done yet!!!

                Heaviest weight - 403 lbs. (2007)
                April 1, 2008 - 387 lbs. (This is when I initially started to lose weight…but was not on Atkins at this point)
                Atkins start weight – 347 lbs. (July 19, 2008 – began Atkins)
                1st major goal met -----100 lbs. lost as of Oct 2, 2008 - Hit 300 lbs. on this day – From April 1-08 when I initially begin to lose weight.
                2nd major goal met - 151 lbs. lost as of Jan 13, 2009 - Hit 249 lbs. on this day.
                3rd major goal met - Wed, May 13-09 - Reached losing 200 lbs. in just over a year and a couple of months.
                Current weight – 203 lbs.
                Goal weight - 150 – 160

                    Awweee thanks so much! I needed to hear that.

                    I'm getting very anxious wanting to hit onederland.....on my doctor's scales I already have but on my scales at home I'm still 4 lbs away!!!!! My scales weight 6 lbs. heavier than my doctors....pretty strange hey?!?!?!? I'm glad it's that way and not the other way around where his scales weigh more than mine! So I guess technically I have hit onederland but I'm not declaring it till my scales say so LOL!

                    I just want to be so much closer to my goal but this will take some more time indeed....patience is a virtue....one that I still lack in.

                    Btw....I responded to your pm...we'll set up a time where we can get together and walk...I think it's awesome we live in the same town and have discovered each other on this board!!!! Amazing!
