  • I am new here!

    Hi everyone,
I am just starting Atkins after a few months on the Zone diet. I lost a little weight on the Zone, but I cannot deal with the carb headaches from cups of oatmeal and fruit after every meal! I don't have a lot to lose -- just seven more pounds of weight I gained after surgery last August. But those seven pounds are proving difficult. I decided to kick-start my weight loss with Atkins on the recommendation of my mom, who loves it and has been low carbing since 2001. Here's my big issue though: I have a history of restrictive eating. I'm terrified that if I eat more calories on Atkins than I normally eat (around 1100 a day before induction), I will gain and backtrack on the progress I have already made. I have read the book backwards and forwards and I know about the concept of "metabolic advantage," but I'm still scared. Where should I post about this for advice, I wonder?
Thanks and best wishes to all!!!
