  • Introduction

Hello everyone! Just introducing myself. My name is MJ and I am 33 years old. I have been obese most of my life and am now at 347lbs. I tried Atkins a couple of years ago for 35 days and lost 40lbs but fell off at Christmas. I knew a few months ago it was time to try again but was getting married and had already bought my dress so I decided as soon as my husband and I got back from our honeymoon I would restart. I have and am on day 10 with no cheating. My body is going in and out of shock (feeling sick and very shaky and tired) but once I get up and get moving that goes away. I'm in this for the long haul and my goal weight is 150. I also hope to be much more active. I want to be healthy and love myself.

A pet peeve of mine is people who say oh a bite of mashed potatoes (when I'm cooking for others) won't hurt you. Ahhh but it will. I am addicted to carbs and sugar and I know just a bite will set off a flurry. I am determined. Thank you for welcoming me.

    Welcome
You are so right about that one bite. For me it is very psychological I think. I have the scary ability to talk myself into all kinds of things when it comes to food. So I like the rules. They keep me on the straight and narrow.
Good luck on your road to healthy and (more) beautiful. We have some wonderful members here that started around your weight and worked their way down. Check out the century club and you may run into some of them.

Thank you so much! I vowed to up my water intake and to do 14 flights of stairs a day. I have already done 15 flights and it's not even 11am yet. Go me! Feeling a little shaky now though, but I'm sure it will go away in a bit.

Thank you so much for the support and for the inspiration.
