  • Today is the day!

    Hello ,
After just experinecing my 51st birthday at my largest ever ....I am motivated to stick with a lifestyle change and get rid of this anchor, holding me down from the things I want to enjoy, the clothes I want to wear, an the way I want to look and feel!

I have to go to work now, but wanted to get started and introduce myself. I hope to establish some good connections here and share in the joy of reaching goals!

    Thanks for being here!

      Welcome to ADBB

You're making the right choice, as this battle is so very hard to beat when you're trying to do it alone. The people here are awesome.. they will lend you and ear or shoulder when you're having a bad day, some will be a little harsher when and if you cheat lol.. they all want you to succeed and the amount of encouragement that one can get from this board.. is mind blowing!

To make the best of what ADBB has to offer, you should check in as often as you can, for some that's daily or weekly, or when they need help a few times a day to make it. Everyone is different and has different coping skills. You should have the Atkins Book, read the newbie section here, weight yourself and take all your measurements, then continue to do that part of it weekly or whatever suits you best. Drink at least 8 - 8oz glasses of water daily, read up on the induction recipes and all the allowable foods, then go and shop for the stuff asap, so you have it for the times you get the munchies or withdrawls from your regular foods.

I know I have not touched on everything to do with either ADBB or the rest of it, but I'm sure you'll find many others will add to this as time passes. I wish you all the luck in the world, and you have started out with flying colours... you're here.. way to go!!!

Here are some links for you to check out.. I hope they load properly for you.

        Thanks!
In all honesty my 250 is a guess, as I can't even bear to get ont he scale.
I know it's important to get a correct reading, but I don't dare as I know it will send me into a depressional spin....I will when I'm feeling a little stronger....

That my sound crazy, but after so many years of weighing etc...it drives me nuts.

I remember feeling fat and overweight when I was only 20 pounds over my ideal, and I can't imagine now that I am 90 pounds over that I could have felt like I did then. I would LOVE to be 20 pounds over weight .....

Anyway, it's one day at a time, and soon I will face the scale and measurements so I can keep accurate accounts of my weight loss!

I'm sure I am not the only one who has flet this way on here when getting started again!??
