  • Hello from a newbie

well, mybe not that new. I did Atkins about 15 years ago with a friend. I wanted to loose about 10lbs. I really did it to support my friend. Now need to loose 30lbs. I had major surgery on my leg and fractured my ankle last year. Sitting around healing and recovering is how I gained the 30 lbs. I don't know how it happened ... one day my cloths didn't fit.
In any case, Ihope to loose it by August ... but sooner would be fine. I still have trouble walking, but I do what I can daily .... at least one trip around the block with the dog. Some days a little more. Jumping or running out of the question untill the hardware is removed in september and I have recovered from that.

      Welcome to the board, barbiedoll!

Do you have the 2002 edition of the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution? It's the one we use here and it's a must read!

I hope you are fully recovered soon and can get more exercise because it really helps the weight come off.

        Re: Hello from a newbie

I'm looking for the '02 version of the book. I plan to stop at Walmart on my way to work tonight and see of they have it. I did down load the induction food list from the site and reviewed the rules for induction here. I'm planning a clean induction so I have a few adjustments to make ... like 1/2 & 1/2. I'm only doing 1 cup of coffee and I tried it black ... yuck! So I'm using heavy cream in it. I also need to get some pork rinds. I love crunchy stuff and ... My name is Barb and I'm a carbaholic.

I also started my fitday.com thingy. I think I like it. A good way to keep track of what I eat.
