  • I Hate not being able to run with my daughter

I needa to lose a LOT of weight to feel comfortable again. I lost 100 lbs with Atkins before and gained most of it back. 272 lbs. Was down to 200. 200 seems like a lot but it's what i look best at. I am frustrated with the induction phase... I hate the same food over and over, but with our lifestyle, we don't have a ton of time to cook. So, if anyone could give some advice on fast recipes, it would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi Sarah!

It's great to meet you, congratulations on getting back into the swing of things and making the commitment to get healthy. Don't sweat over what you did in the past and what you may have gained back.....the most important thing is learning from mistakes and making the right choices now each day to go forward and accomplish what you need to do to continue to get healthy...I'm really proud of you for making that commitment.

I'm not sure if you've had a chance to check this section out Atkins Food and Recipes but it's got some fabulous recipe ideas that are quick and easy!

There's another link....I'll have to go searching for it that is amazing!

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers!

Welcome Sarah! Glad you joined us here at ADBB... I'm sure you won't regret it. There's a ton of info to be had here, not to mention support and inspiration.

I'd advise you to make the move to OWL if you're bored with induction foods. You'll find the extra food choices very welcome and you really do still lose (particularly on the first rungs, where many say they lose even more!)

That link that Sarina gave you to Linda's site, is awesome. The recipes with an asterisk are the induction friendly ones, but seriously... consider moving up the rungs now.

        Happy Atkineering!

          Nice to meet you, Sarah!

There are many people on this board that it's their second, third or even fourth time around on this way of life. You're going to find tons of support here. The recipe section of the site is great.

Check in, and check in often. This board has saved me sooooo many times in the month I've been on the way of eating.......

Take care, and you're doing a great job!

            Welcome Sarah!

There are lots of things you can eat on plan, you just have to spend some time finding the right ones. I know it's hard when you're so busy but just remind yourself that you owe it to your daughter and yourself to get healthy and set a good example.

I wish you the best of luck!

Re: I Hate not being able to run with my daughter

Hey Sarah. There are so many things you can do to keep things interesting. I break out the crockpot 2x a week and make enough to insure there are leftovers. With a family of 5 and two of us donig Atkins, it requires a bit more work. Luckily, the kids will eat whatever meat I prepare, so it works out for us. Another thing you can do is prepare a ton of "goody" bags on your day off. When things get hectic...and they always do...you can snag a bag or two and eat on the go. It's the only way I can manage to eat at all. Otherwise, there'll be 2 or 3 days that pass before I realize I haven't eaten anything....which is why I am the size I am. The revolution rolls are a blessing, too. I make them a dozen at a time and toss together a bacon sandwich to munch on the run.
