  • Back again!!

Hope I stay past one month. The strange thing is I lost about 14 pounds in a month, but got a case of the ____ it's!! The remorse of giving up is a physical and moral killer. So here I go again. I needed some support and I tried to log on to this bulletin board and couldn't for some reason. I can't start this with any reservations this time. The mind is a strange thing....how quick i can think my way into quitting. So.......as the famous quite says "It's not how you fall down, it's how you get up!" AND AWAY WE GO!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Back again!!

    Welcome back,
I think I said the same thing yesterday, "back again". I started in January and have lost 30lbs so far. I kinda' said f... it also and started snacking here and there again. I did not gain any back, but I did not lose anymore either. So, I am getting up and going again.
I am back to looking at the boards again, because it does help.

Welcome back to both of you --- this plan works but you have to work the plan! Don't cheat, you've put crap into your mouth for so long, give yourself 14 days to change your bad habits and break your habits. Make sure you know the rules of induction and follow them to the "T"...no shakes and bars....if you put anything in your mouth make sure it's on the acceptable food list.

Drink at least 64 ounces of water daily -- PURE WATER -- nothing added (except ice) - I drink 150 ounces daily and have since Jan 5, 2009 when I started. I can tell when I don't drink enough water and after a few days so will you be able to!

Start some sort of exercise immediately -- it's mandatory -- no excuses!! Here are some links to help get you going again -- don't eat the same thing over and over -- you'll set yourself up to cheat and then we'll be welcoming you back again!

Good luck -- if you need anything all you have to do is ask!

The Rules of Induction can be found here:
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=6782 (What are the Rules of Induction?)
The Induction Acceptable Foods List can be found here:

This is from the "Read before you start" thread in the Induction areaThis is from the "Read before you start" post

Be sure to drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
      Filtered water
      Mineral water
      Spring water
      Tap water

Additionally (after your 64 ounces daily), you can have the following:

Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label)
      Club soda
Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carb content)
      Decaffeinated coffee or tea*
Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda); be sure to count the carbs (may cause a stall in weight loss)
Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and should not contain aspartame)
Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added)
Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons

*Excessive caffeine may cause unstable blood sugar and should be avoided by those who suspect they are caffeine dependent. Everyone should try to avoid caffeine. Grain beverages (coffee substitutes) are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted during Induction; those low in carbohydrates are an option, in moderation, in later phases.

I had the same issue. Come to discover it was this brand of lettuce I was using, had some weird spinach variant in it. Caused an immediate stomach gurgle and off to the bathroom I ran for some serious toilet time.

Is there anything you eat that particularly caused it?

OK, I am laughing my head off right now. I took "____ it's!!" to be something else besides going to the bathroom.
            .
I guess I need to wash my mouth out.
Well, I do get a case of the "don't care" sometimes, espcially when I am tired, stressed out and don't have time to prepare my daily meals like I should. I just have to keep a lot of legal food both at home and at work.
