    Hello All. My name is Lisa and I live in Michigan. I'm new to Atkins and am hoping this forum will keep me motivated. I have just completed the first two weeks of induction and was not soo successful. I only lost 2lbs; I understand that it may take a while for my body to adjust so I am following strictly and am going with the flow! I would like to lose 20lbs and feel healthy!

    Welcome Lisa and congrats on the lbs lost. From what I've read on here, it seems that the less you have to lose, the slower it is to come off. Either way, you're doing great!

        Welcome to the board, Lisa!

        You've come to the right place for the support and encouragement you need.

        Do you have the 2002 edition of the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution? It's the one we use here and it's a must read because it explains the diet fully.

          Thank you so much, had a couple of set backs but am working to correct them. No more shakes or bars The version of the book I am currently reading is Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. Not sure what year but throughout the book it states that it is a newer version from the one he wrote ten years ago. I'll let you know how it goes. Btw, You and I have the same stats... when I started a different diet I started at 198 and now am at 161. How cute!

            Hi Lisa,

            I have been on Atkins for 5 weeks now, no lbs lost but inches are flying off. Don't give up and there are ways to check and see if you are on track.

            Those keto sticks check your urine for ketones. Once you get into that state your fat will burn even when you are asleep! Usually hit that after the first 3 days carb free. If you goof, just start over for 3 days and keep purple! Man love that Atkins science!

            By the way, I lived in Kalamazoo and Plainwell Michigan a few years... back in Texas now!
