  • New Here! :D

Hey all. I'm obviously new to the boards. Its funny how I found this place, I was actually looking for diet tips and stumbled upon this board. I read some posts and decided I should sign up. It seems like a really close-knit support system which is great.

Well, my name is Marq. I'm 20 and weigh in at a surprising 222 pounds. I'm a college student who's always been chunky. I've never been considered fat but always on the husky side. I just decided that after a lifetime of being husky, I need to take control of my weight. I want to drop down to at least 185-190 pounds by August 25th. Hopefully I will achieve it.

So thats about it. Feel free to send me messages as I have no idea on how to lose weight properly. All I know is I'm doing a low carb diet, even though I don't know what exactly to eat and jogging 5 times a week for an hour so maybe that will help. Hope to hear from you guys!

    Re: New Here!

    Welcome to the board, Marq!

You need to get a copy of the 2002 edition Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution because that's the book this site is based on. It's a great motivator and explains fully how and why the diet works.

Also read the Forums here and they will help you get started the right way. The fact that you're getting all that exercise will definitely help you lose faster.

If you have any questions, just ask because we are here to help. Good luck to you!

I think it is best to decide on a plan and stick to it. Here of course we are following the 2002 Atkins Plan. And we love it.

Here are some threads in our FAQ that will help you.
