Re: Hello
Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! 12 pounds gone - teriffic!!! I hope you are drinking enough water, exercising and eating food off the acceptable food list. Are you staying on extended induction or moving on to OWL Rung 1 and adding 5 additional net carbs of veggies?
Good luck & keep up the great work!!Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

Re: Hello
Thank you everybody for the encouragement. I am drinking lots of water and exercising 4 to 5 times a week walking/jogging. Today I am drinking straight up water instead of mixing it with Walmart's "crystal light" and also started incorporating psyllium husks today as well to see if there will be any change. I would like to see if there is a difference in weight release. I will be staying on extended induction, and I will check out the century club very soon.

The only water that counts according to Dr Atkins is pure water - nothing added.
This is from the "Read before you start" thread in the Induction area
Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
Filtered water
Mineral water
Spring water
Tap water
Additionally (after your 64 ounces daily), you can have the following:
Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label)
Club soda
Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three Tablespoons a day; note carb content)
Decaffeinated coffee or tea*
Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda); be sure to count the carbs (may cause a stall in weight loss)
Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and should not contain aspartame)
Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added)
Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three Tablespoons
*Excessive caffeine may cause unstable blood sugar and should be avoided by those who suspect they are caffeine dependent. Everyone should try to avoid caffeine.
Grain beverages (coffee substitutes) are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted during Induction; those low in carbohydrates are an option, in moderation, in later phases.Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily
