    Hi all

    My name is Greg and I am in South Africa. Needed to lose 15kg's and have always wanted to try low-carb but I get serious gout so have stayed away until now.

    Read the book cover to cover and found it very interesting. Am currently on day 15 and have had no gout "touch wood"! Weighed this morning and am 5KG's down (about 10 pounds I think) and have dropped a belt notch - am very impressed!

    I am enjoying eggs and bacon for breakfast and love having meat at every meal as I am addicted to all forms of meat. For snacks I eat biltong whenever I want (like beef jerky but it;s waaay better).

    Great forum - have learnt loads more than what was in the book and it;s a great support structure!

    Welcome to the board, Greg! And congrats on your loss so far!

    I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your new way of eating, just be sure to get your veggies in because they are very important to the diet and your health!

      Hi Greg and welcome. Make sure your book is the 2002 version as there have been a lot of changes over the years. Glad to here the gout hasn't kicked in.

        Hi Greg and welcome! Good to have you with us. Congrats on your good start... isn't it awesome when you start to tighten the belt a notch or two?
