  • Newbie and ridiculously motivated!!! WHOOHOO

I'll try to keep it short...I was always naturally thin (yea, I hated myself too - lol) until I ran into a medical issue at the age of 20 and gained about 115 lbs. over a couple of years.

Fast forward a few years - I'm now 26 - no medical concerns (Yay), but I've gotten used to my size and horrendous habits.

I was always the one taking pictures, until one day I had a look of some pics that were taken of me and I did not recognize myself!!! I was completely shocked.

I was also surprised that no one had ever said anything! I think the guilt of my illness kept negative comments away "At least she's healthy now".

So it took some time for me to wake up, but I am officially sick to death of the way I look and decided on Atkins because I tried it once in the past and it worked remarkably well (until I fell off the wagon).

So thanks for the ears and wish me strength!!

    xoxo

Exercise is not an option – it is mandatory ….. start today!

This is from the "Read before you start" thread in the Induction area
Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
      Filtered water
      Mineral water
      Spring water
      Tap water

Additionally (after your 64 ounces daily), you can have the following:
Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label)
      Club soda
Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three Tablespoons a day; note carb content)
      Decaffeinated coffee or tea*
Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda); be sure to count the carbs (may cause a stall in weight loss)
Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and should not contain aspartame)
Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added)
Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three Tablespoons

*Excessive caffeine may cause unstable blood sugar and should be avoided by those who suspect they are caffeine dependent. Everyone should try to avoid caffeine.
Grain beverages (coffee substitutes) are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted during Induction; those low in carbohydrates are an option, in moderation, in later phases.

      Good luck to you!!
      Carole
