  • Hello.....Again....

    Hello to all,

    My name is Laura. Im not new to Atkins. I just seem to have a difficult time getting through induction. I keep coming back to this site because I really like the kindness and the support the people here give each other. Im 37 yrs old and really need to lose weight. I have been to the doctor frequently in regards to elevated BP. Apparrently I am also border line diabetic. My doctor has told me that dropping some weight should help in regards to both the diabetes and the high blood pressure. I know she is right. I also know I will probably feel 100% better and have a little more energy than I seem to have now. About a week and a half ago I started walking. Im doing about 2 to 3 kms a day. Its not a long distance but it takes me about 30 minutes. I will eventually get myself up to an hour a day. (Or so I am hoping) I restarted induction on the 24th of May. Its only been a couple of days, but I can honestly say Im feeling ok. Not at all hungry. Drinking plenty of water. I recently broke up with the fellow I have been dating for the year and a half. (Well I should say he broke up with me, but all is ok.) I think with every thing going on, it would do me a lot of good to keep focusing on my 8yr old son, and to START focusing on my health. Anyways... take-care and heres hoping I make it through induction this time!

    goal wt - Not to sure yet. Maybe a good 80 pnds or so.

            Welcome back, Laura!

            You will find all the support and encouragement you need right here. Be sure to get those nasty carbs out of your house so you're not tempted by them anymore. It will make staying on course much easier.

                hi Laura -- we are all in the same boat here, we need each others support to get by daily. When you feel you can't go any further come here and let us help -- by inspiring us you will help us also!

                Good luck to you -- I am diabetic so I know that loosing some weight will do you a world of good. Also the walking is wonderful -- you may not think it's far but it's good for a start ... add a little more to it in a few weeks and before long you'll laugh at thinking you couldn't do it!! Good for you - your son needs you healthy so you need to do this for yourself so you can be there for him.

                  Im still on induction! Im feeling very good. Just got back from my walk and today I started to add some sit-ups and push-ups to my exercise routine.
