  • More tired during induction

    Hi,

I started 6 days ago on the induction and think I am loosing weight and also never feel hungry or have cravings its great !! Its working. Yesterday I went to a party, and was able to eat moderatly on meat and cheese and veggies, and not feel hungry or left out.

The only thing is, the first view days I had to pee a TON and a LOT, then the last view days I am soooo thirtsy and I have a really hard time doing my exercize. I hike dogs in the Hills, for 90 minutes sometimes twice a day. Its tough getting up a hill now, when normally I could do it with no effort. It feels all my energy is drained at times (when I am climbing) and feel I need to stop.
Will this go away over time once my body gets used to getting the energy from my fat ?
And in the mornings I am tired as ****, normally I wake up at 6 am, now I can not get out of bed ?
Do I need to eat more carbs? I dont count them.

I normally eat: 1.5 eggs, baked in olive oil, then with half a tomato, some bolied chicken (or other left over meat from night before), a cube of cheese, and sometimes I add a cup of spinach,

Lunch: 1/4 of iceberg lettuce, can of tuna, some olives or peace of cucumbers.

Dinner a peace of meat and same salad as lunch.

Then snacks: radishes, peace of cheese or deli meat.

I did not take any viatamins or the oils, but started now. I am hoping that will help.

    Thanks !!

Its great to have this Board !

    Re: More tired during induction

I think if you did not have oil earlier you were probably low both in fat and in carbs. This is not a great combo. So make sure you get your fats in there. Are you having dressing with your salads.
You could also add some more nutrition rich veggies. Lettuce is very light stuff so carbs are probably not very high either. If you had some peppers that may change things.

Welcome - glad to see you here.

Hiker, you are probably still adjusting and this will pass, but you also look like you need more fat in your diet. Fitday.com is free and will chart your foods for you. You want about 65% fat in your diet. That will help with the tiredness. Also stay away from iceberg lettuce. Choose darker green lettuces-- the iceberg has no nutritional value and you need to load your vitamins into your 3 cups a day.

If you up the fats and give it a few more days you should be OK. I hiked the hills of Hong Kong 3-4 times a week for 90 mins or more in the heat and never had a problem as long as I stayed hydrated so I know the diet didn't trip me up, but I made sure I had the higher fat content. Also take your supplements. This diet is lower in potassium, manganese and magnesium and the minerals can help prevent leg cramps.

Glad to have you here. You should feel better soon.

how much water are you drinking daily? I mean pure water, nothing added (except ice) --at a minimum you should be drinking 64 ounces and with hiking you should drink more.

I agree it sounds like you need more fats in your diet and more vegetables - most of your carbs should come from the vegetables daily -- spinach is great but you need more than just that. How do you know how many carbs you are taking in daily if you aren't tracking them? Go to FitDay and start today. FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal.

        Good luck

          Re: More tired during induction

Thanks everyone, I will up my ridger veggies..I think I was too worried about getting too much carbs. So peppers and brocoli and the dark green ones..

          I think I drink about 3 liters a day..just water..thats all I drink and a liter of coffee a day..with heavy cream.

With the fat, I love cheese but can only have 3 or 4 cubes ?? Can I have more ?
I am not a big meat lover, its tough eating chicken in the morning..especially I am never hungry anymore ? (thats a good thing)

Thanks again..I will do al thats suggested and see in a couple of days..drink even more water..
I am in California and it gets hot here hiking and working.

            Welcome to the board, Hiker!

I hope you're feeling better soon. One of the best things about this woe is that you get so much energy from it, so maybe a little tweaking of the diet will help you get yours back!

            Good luck!
