  • Giving it a go! Introduction-

    Hi Everyone,

I am 23 years old and just want to wear a bikini for the first time in my life. I have been reading this bullentin board for about a month without being a member and I am so excited at everyones results. My doctor recommended Atkins for the thyroid issues I have (hypothyroid). I have lost large amounts of weight before and I just want to keep it off for good this time! I played four years of NCAA college lacrosse and would love to lose weight and be involved with athletics again whether it's weekend warrior games or races.

    Thanks!

Hi Polar and welcome. If you approach this as a permanent new life, and not a temporary dietary detour you will keep it off. There will be bumps along the way and maybe it won't happen overnight, but you will get there and best of all you will feel healthy and full of energy.

If you haven't yet read the book, do get it and read it cover to cover. There is a lot of good information there and it is also a great motivator. And post here often--helps keep us all accountable and motivated.

Be sure to check out the Induction stickies for the basics as well as some terrific hints to make your journey easier. Glad you have found us.

It's not about the results. Its about the process.
