  • Hello - New to the board and 2nd day on Induction

    Hi

Well what can I say I started Atkins 2 months ago but just seemed to be a struggle each time round ( due to all the non veg foods ) but I have to say I have lost 2 stone. This week I started again fresh without the shakes as i was using them at the start of my 2nd month and well I found I was not loosing any weight ( Another waste of ££££ $$$$$ as we pay £46.00 for 24 shakes and £1.95 per bar )

So here goes I really need to loose another 3 stone to hit my goal and I am so desperate it works for me as i have tried evey diet going and to add to that I also took a bank loan out last yr and had a ballon fitted 3 days later went into kindney failure so that was money well down the pan, thanks god I am ok now

I have always been a veggie - so having to eat all this meat and poultry is a mission but I do it with great difficulty

I would like to say I am glad I found this site and look forward to what ever support I can give and receive

    Happy weight loss everyone

    xxxx

Sorry to hear your story of struggling so hard. If it was easy, none of us would be here! I don't think this board encourages the Atkins shakes anyways, they go by the 2002 Atkins Book. Be creative, look around, ask lots of questions- I am sure you will find the answers you are looking for. I am here to help as well. Good luck and happy weight loss!! (Hang in there-sounds like you may be doubting this way of eating)....

Started this diet on Sun 4/26/09

50 lbs gone on Sun 9/27/09

Well its been over a year now and I am currently on maintenance and still trying to adjust to the "new" ME. No major struggles to report, just livin' day to day.

Welcome to the board, Reens! And congrats on your loss so far!

Are you saying you're not eating veggies? They are an important part of the diet and you are encouraged to eat them because without them you will miss vital nutriments and maybe get constipation. Please check out the Atkins Phases forum so you know what you can eat on each rung.

On induction you are allowed 3 cups of salad veggies, or 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of other allowed veggies everyday. You should have the 2002 edition of the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution because it explains the diet fully and is a great motivator.

Let us know how you make out!

Hi Blue, I think she meant that she was always a big veggie eater but not a meat eater, so adding all the fat and protein is tough.

Welcome Reens, I find fish and eggs are easier to digest than the four legged proteins so you can stick more to those if it helps. It sounds to me like you are doing terrific so far!

why don't you move up to OWL Rung 1 and add an additional 5 net carbs of vegetables daily? If you have having trouble eating meat I would do as China suggested and try more fish. You don't give any info about where you started, how much you have lost what your goal is so progessing up the rungs in OWL makes sense if you need more veg. Good luck

I take a multi and a vitamin E because my fitday.com journal consistently tells me I am low in it. I also take L-glutamine because I lift heavy weights and it helps rebuild muscle. I tried chromium piccolinate and I also take 3 fiber caplets of pure psyllium husks daily to keep things moving along. Many people take a potassium magnesium supplement as well. It helps with leg cramps.
