I wanted to be sure to post my intro before going to the other boards! I am new to this site, and on day four of induction. I am having such annoying headaches but thankfully increased water consumption calms them down for a few hours at a time!
I am a 25 year old mom of a 19-month-old little boy! I started my pregnancy at a very healthy weight but completely overindulged and gained about 65 pounds. By the time my son was a few months old I'd lost 40 of it, but I've yet to lose anything since. So... here I am on Atkins. I'm here because I'm tired of being overweight and one of those girls people comment that they gained a lot with their pregnancy or still carrying around the baby weight! I think I used to look pretty good... I miss those days
I always thought I'd be the hot young mom... hah, yeah right.
I am sooo lucky my husband is doing Atkins with me. I have tried Weight Watchers recently and it just didn't work. I followed my points guidelines and exercised but I never lost more than a pound a month. It was very frustrating, especially with my husband eating burritos all the time! But, even he realized his health is at stake and it would be good for him to lose some weight.
We started Monday June 1st because it seemed like a perfect start date! It's now day 4 and he's feeling great but I'm headachey.. I think it's carb withdrawls because I'm eating well and yes, eating my veggies and having lots of water
The last time I did Atkins I was 19 and still a self-absorbed teenager thinking I could never possibly be thin enough. I followed the plan for about a month and lost about 10 pounds and back in those days I wore a size 5 or 7. Believe it or not I thought I was fat back then! Now I laugh because I'm a size 14 and I'd love to be that little again. Hopefully I will be someday, but really I just want to be healthier.
