  • Hello I am the new kid

I just started the Atkins Diet on 6/01/09 and I have seen some results.

I am not a large person 5"2 and before 6/1/09 I weighed 119. This is Day 5 and I am down to 114. I have always been a small person but until recently I've started gaining weight. I am tired of people asking me if I am pregnant or talking about my weight gain behind my back. I am a huge addict to carbs so I knew this diet would probably benefit me. Right now I have no energy and I am feeling a bit depressed. It must be my body going through the motions of the induction phase.

Anyhow, I just wanted to introduce myself.

hello I am new as well...I seem to be goin through some emotional phases too...I think outside stress from ppl is exxagerating our state of mind right now...But hang in there..I know this diet works..it worked for me a few years back, it helped me lose 70 lbs..This is the first lifestyle I thought of to get my wieght under control. after I fell into bad habit of givin in to carb cravings which haunted me whenever i would be sressed...or worried..or even happy at times...hope all goes well for...I know it will..

Hi Brownmrocks and welcome. Be sure to start up the rungs and don't stay on Induction because you are very close to goal so if you hop off of Induction without learning carb control and what triggers you, you will likely gain it all back. The rungs teach you to juggle the OTHER foods that we want back in our lives in a controlled way. I think you are off to a super quick start. Congratulations.

WELLKEPT32--keep in mind that even if Brown tells you everything she ate, your losses will be totally different. You are a different body, probably different age, hormone level, activity level---there are a thousand factors in each person's weight loss that one has NO control over. The best plan is to stick to the Induction rules: 20 gr of carbs mostly from your 3 cups of veggies daily. Lots of water. Exercise. No Atkins bars, shakes or other frankenfoods. Oh, and please, read the book.

          GOAL ONE 228
          (take 2)
          GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
          GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
          FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

hi and welcome -- since you are getting started don't forget to drink at least 64oz of pure water daily (nothing added).....that and exercise are the two major things you need to remember other than eating food on the acceptable food list. Be sure to vary your food so you don't get bored and get lots of fats in daily - that will help keep you feeling full and keep cravings at bay.
